About CF

ContentFactory is a research project  financed by Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation), the City of Kouvola, Kouvola Innovation Oy and a number of enterprises specialised in language management and technology (see Partners). ContentFactory brings together researchers from several departments of the University of Helsinki and Helsinki University of Technology. The project time span is May 2008 – December 2010.

The project develops and integrates language and document technology tools which help automate and distribute multilingual content management. Based on earlier work by four research partners, ContentFactory brings together ontologies and constrained-language multilingual language technology, wide-coverage information extraction and aggregation methods, and multilingual terminology and ontology learning.

ContentFactory provides distributed methods of interacting based on cumulated semantic knowledge which enables interoperability in various application areas. The project has four parallel workpackages which interoperate to combine the strengths of the research parties.
